a Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of Florida’s
Department of Psychiatry, I returned to El Paso to be near my
family and to serve my community.
Since returning to El Paso I have served as a Staff Psychiatrist for
the local Mental Health Authority and a served in Medical
Directorship for a local mental health hospitals’ Dual Diagnosis/
Rehabilitation/Detoxification Unit and have also participated in a
collaborative tele-psychiatry practice.
At AVILA PSYCHIATRY we care for the whole person by taking a
delicate, hands-on approach to mental health. We strive to care
for the biological, psychological, social and spiritual (from a 12-
step perspective) aspects of the human person. Our integrated
model of care approaches treatment from diverse perspectives:
the well-being of the patient, family dynamics, traditional
medication management, and therapeutic modalities or referrals.
